Online Parenting Summit, parent success story: Rachana Baqdia

Online parenting Summit (OPS) 2021 elaborates on various methods of parenting, a celebration of parenthood. The summit helps to reboot parenting and develop a friendly relationship between parents and their children. The concept of OPS is to create an impact on parents and their parenting styles. OPS aims to touch the universe and beyond, impact every generation that may come further. Until now, people practiced parenting in their own traditional ways but OPS tries to bring in modern ways in which one can make parenting experience much more fun yet unique.

Here is the story of Rachana Baqdia, mother of Anvita and Shaurya, who talks about her journey as a parent.

My name is Rachana Baqdia, a mother to an 11 year-old-daughter and a seven-year-old son, Anvita and Shaurya. I’ve been living in Kolhapur with my husband, children and mother-in-law. By profession, I am an MBA in financial management had left my job 10 years back and now involved in my teaching profession. I run a Brain O’ Brain teaching Centre and am also the regional director of Brain O’ Brain, Maharashtra and conduct workshops for children.

Being a part of the online parenting Summit, 2020 helped me understand parenting to the core and would love to be a part of it this year too. My parenting journey started with my professional journey when I was about to conceive my daughter. I got my first teaching job while I was starting my motherhood. Initially, it was quite difficult to manage but gradually things changed. It was the support of my family and children that made me such a strong and independent woman. I am glad that my kids feel proud of me and recognize my work

The pandemic and lockdown situation had been challenging for everybody. I was fed-up managing my job and children hence thought to give up my job. My kids supported me, motivated me and said ‘Brain O’ Brain is your life mumma’ and after such motivation I felt that it is useless worrying about stuffs and all we can do is stay in the moment and enjoy our life with our children and family.

My heart fills with gratitude when my kids try to make me laugh and share my burden. Being a mom, judging and labeling my children isn’t good; it creates standards or beliefs which indulge parents in keeping unnecessary expectations from children.

Being from a very small town, I believe there is still a lot to achieve. It’s my family support here along with my hard work to manage the roles of a mother as well as a teacher. One of the proudest moments of being a mom was when I cooked them their favorite food and the satisfaction on their face was mesmerizing. We share a very friendly bond; we grow together and cherish our lives. Most importantly, the trust and respect we have for each other is what takes us forward.

I am looking forward to attending the online parenting Summit, 2021 because there are various challenges in parenthood. There are many times when there are plenty of decisions to make about your growing kid that creates a mental block.
