July 26, 2023

Launched in 2008 and successfully bringing together over 1,200 educational  institutions from across the world, AYDA Awards by Nippon Paint India concluded the international edition for the year 2022-23 in Vietnam. Tsai, Pei-Chi from Taiwan, and Arya Putra from Indonesia were crowned as ‘Designer of the Year’ in the Architecture and Interior design category respectively.

The theme for this edition of the AYDA Awards ‘Converge: Pushing the Rest Button’ saw over 5184 entries from 15 countries, making the initiative a grand success.

Shivam Singh and Vaibhav Dalvi, the finalists from India under the Interior Design and Architecture  categories, presented their projects at a global forum in person, promoting culture and craftsmanship.  Their projects also highlighted the importance of adapting sustainable practices in architecture. This  platform posed an opportunity to improve networking in the architect community.

The esteemed panel of judges were impressed by the outstanding projects and innovative ideas  showcased by every participant. The title holders were granted a fully funded three-week course  valued at up to USD 10,000 to participate in Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design’s Design  Discovery Programme. This program offers a valuable opportunity for the winners to enhance their  skills and expand their horizons, furthering their pursuit of excellence in their respective industries.

During the International award ceremony, the Nippon Paint community initiative presented additional  accolades, including the Nippon Paint Colour Award, Best Sustainable Design Award, and Best Design  Impact Award. Each winner in these categories also received a cash prize of USD 1,000.
